Re: Parking Garage Construction
As well as the garage part; it seems to be nearing completion. And it can't be said enough: this is a really big structure......pics don't do it justice.

They have about two weeks of work left to complete the erection of the precast prestressed concrete components.

Completing the brick veneer on the laboratory portion of the building. (Not a very good job though as they have mortar on the face of the brick. They will waste a lot of time cleaning this off).

Too big. It dwarfs every other building on campus by a huge margin. I wish they could have squeezed it in in a less prominent location.
Re: Parking Garage Construction
Great pics as usual, Helmut. Thanks

Thanks for filling in. I have been kind of busy and I had the "Lafayette Bug" that put me less than 100% for two weeks.

Was wondering if you had just given up, lol. Glad you are feeling better now...your pics/captions are just so much better than mine.
Re: Parking Garage Construction

Isn't it's location considered the backside of campus? I would guess over time it won't stick out so much, people will get used to it being there. It will provide much needed parking spaces.

Thanks, for the kind words, ULGrad, it is appreciated.
And I agree with you: it is certainly big, not 'too big.' It is also very much needed, and will quickly blend in with the other buildings.

Stopping at 6 levels was wise. Another level would have been higher than adjacent Rougeou Hall and would have made it overbearing. Height is not what make the building big, it's the footprint. The building occupies a little bit more area than the parking lot it replaced. If you remember, it was a fairly large parking lot.
