They think otherwise... but the biggest aggravation about this fan forum... are the self appointed fan forum police that believe it's necessary to continuously evaluate the fans on this forum. I love the differences of opinion. To knock the fact that this forum is rich with opinion... is pathetic.
We are not talking about the barometer of our athletic programs... we are the barometer. If you see an issue... on balance... with a lot of fans on this forum... the program(s) has a problem. Not the other way around.
I visually interpret certain people on this forum as some dufus sitting in the stands at a game. When the fans cheer... he stares at them... not the game. When the fans boo... he stares at them... not the game. Then his big comment after the game is that fan cheering and booing aren't in alignment with his view of the program... and he disputes that a certain time they were cheering shouldn't have happened... because only minutes before they were booing. Knock yourself out dufus.
PS Cajunref, you are not the dufus. You are correct... we need to see what this defense (and offense) have in them (including the coaching) once we get into play with the better teams in the SBC. I hope we win out. But I will make assessments on a frequency of my own choosing... as we win or lose. Because I'm just one more fan.
We're half way through the season, right?
We still don't know who, or if we have an FBS QB, we don't know if we have a serviable defense, and no confidence in special teams.
All this chaos in year seven of Hudspeth. Every fan has the right to like or dislike where we are, and have been under Hud. The one thing he doesn't deserve is fans wanting a bigger sample size.
For me, and I hope I'm wrong, we fully understand Hud's upside. That upside isn't good enough for him to get a bigger gig, then it's not good enough to keep him. In fact that should be in every contract. After four years you can get a new gig, or we might fire you.
Re: In-Game Thread: Louisiana vs Texas State
Something has gotta give. Over the last 2 and a half seasons we are....
13-18 overall
10-9 in SBC
0 non-conf FBS wins
Folks, this is completely unacceptable. Either Hudspeth finds the reset button on this program by doing something like finishing 5-1 or Dr. Maggard hits that button for him.

Maggard needs to hit the button and Hud falls through the trapdoor.........even if rescues the season and wins a bowl game. As stated above, the sample size is now big enough and what he offers is not what we're looking for.

My thoughts exactly.
Even IF we win out -- I mean end with a 9-3 record - it is time for us to move on!
I Base MY opinion (not speaking for anyone else) on what I have observed for over 7 years as solid evidence of his past actions, mistakes, miscues, ill-conceived micro-management, and lack of a big picture strategy .
By the way, IF we win out (odds are 1M-1), it will be in SPITE of Hud, NOT because of him

Obviously our next hire will be the most important in the program's history, especially with all that's at stake in the near term. We need to hire a head coach who puts together a solid group of assistants and who within a couple of years is being courted by SEC members.

Sometimes its better to be lucky than good.
No lucky coach has ever been fired.

Trust me when I tell you, if and when Dr. Maggard decides to reboot the program, the buyout money will be available. It has been on the table since mid-season last year.
