I have not bought my tickets yet.....I'm the ultimate pessimistic fan.. when they do get the bid I'll jump on them tickets ...:)

Re: Worst Case: UL vs. Tech in the NOLA Bowl.
Tech will end up in San Diego and we will likely end up playing a MAC team. Although still early to predict as the MAC will have 7 if not 8 teams bowl eligible but it likely be one of the following teams: Temple or Toledo.

The problem I have with it is that NECH fan doesn't travel much beyond Shreveport... :p

The bigger question in all of this becomes who will we play. NO is scheduled to take the #5 team from CUSA, but with Boise losing and Houston still undefeated, there is a good chance that Houston ends up in a BCS bowl which would mean that NO would Essentially be taking the #6 seed from CUSA. Right now, CUSA has 4 bowl eligible team, they have 3 teams a 4-6 and 1 team at 5-5 and one of those 4-6 teams will fall to 4-7 this weekend as ECU and UCF play each other. They would need a lot of things to go right to have 6 eligible teams, so New Orleans may be in the mix for an atlarge team. Best Case Scenario is if we can nab a team from one of the AQ conferences that misses a slot, that would be really awesome. More likely though, we may end up playing one of the bowl eligible MAC teams. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Rivals.com has the Cajuns vs. Marshall in their bowl projection.

Between Boomer's dashes and Snote's dots, it would look something like Morse code I would think.

I doubt we see USM in the NO Bowl. I think you see them in the Liberty as that is where the CUSA
champ goes. This is likely if either they or Houston win the CUSA championship game. If Houston wins they will likely be in a BCS bowl leaving USM to fill the Liberty slot. If USM wins they are CUSA champs and go to the Liberty. SMU may bring a good crowd as flights from Dallas to New Orleans are plentiful and reasonably priced.

I was just thinking that I followed snote's post and I've followed most of Boomer's post pretty well all week. Think I'll go ahead and schedule that checkup my wife has been bugging me about.
However if anyone is looking at the long term effects of concussions from playing football I think they should talk to both of these guys. :)

It's only a matter of when the invite comes.
Look at last year...FIU won the tiebreaker...where did they go? Little Caesars Bowl. Godaddy.com wanted MTSU and New Orleans wanted Troy. These bowls will get who they want. And lucky for us...New Orleans has the first choice and we are the apple of their eye.
True dat! The official word comes Monday!

I agree, if they play in a bowl or get invited, I hope it is so far away there fan base turn out , it pathetic.
Definitely don't want them playing our guys, ASU or UL in a bowl this year.

Oh, I agree. No way USM is in NO Bowl this year. I was just commenting on the post about SMU vs. USM fans coming to the game. And I do think that SMU would have a good representation in NO. Just that I feel USM would travel better (IF they were in it) since they are much closer and generally seem to travel better than the Pony faithful.

Tech would bring 10,000 easy. It a moot point though. We will be playing a CUSA team.
-
Re: Worst Case: UL vs. Tech in the NOLA Bowl.
I understand the dislike of Tech, but I would love this matchup. Large crowd and a chance to see where we stand.
Won't happen, but I see no reason to not want it to happen.

Re: Worst Case: UL vs. Tech in the NOLA Bowl.
While CUSA is the designated opponent in NO, it's not likely they'll be able to fill their bowl slots, especially if Houston makes a BCS bowl.
New Orleans could be open for an atlarge pick.
Meanwhile, the WAC has three bowl tie-ins. And, right now they have three eligible teams. Utah State could be the fourth.
Louisiana Tech plays Nevada this week. If they win, they only need to beat N. Mex State to be the designated conference champ. I can't imagine the WAC allowing their champ to go to a non-WAC bowl.

I've never seen them with more than a few hundred at CAJUN FIELD and most of those people think New Orleans is a foreign country!! NO WAY they would have more than a couple thousand down here!!!

I think they will have a tough time against Nevada, but should handle NMSU pretty easily.
