The two of you asking questions have already made up your mind. That is fine! I respect that! However, it seems like you want to play some “gotcha” game. And also I don’t like engaging with people who are accusing me of trying to take people’s money when I’ve stated my intentions for doing this for almost two years now.
I’m not anyone’s enemy. All this vitriol is kind of ridiculous because all this about is just putting a kid in a costume. People can either like it or not. But that’s beautiful thing to me! I’m giving everyone a choice; a choice they never had before when it came to spirit leaders.
I have no political, institutional, or financial power in this push. I’m relatively unknown alum that has passion, creativity, and is ready to put in hard work to do something possibly very special. If this campaign doesn’t work, we’ll have our that Albineaux or a gator isn’t the thing. But if it works, it’ll be one of the best underdogs stories in mascot history. If you want to know more about me and this project, you can Google any of the interviews I have done on the news and the radio.
For everyone who hopefully hasn’t made up their mind already and wants an answer to the fundraiser question: I’m an indie filmmaker. Part of my job is know how to fundraise for projects that connect to people. I have to know how to pitch projects that have clear end goals for merit, impact, and cost benefit. When you look at the documents tomorrow, I’ll be happy to clear up any confusion.
I appreciate the effort you put into this, but you hadnt answered the question. Whats happens to the money if only 50% of funds needed to make suit are raised? Seems like a very reasonable question

Re: Poll on Albineaux the Gator
This is the dumbest idea for a number of reasons. First off, "albino", is a genetic condition. Second, Florida has the Gator and we are Louisiana - why would we copy another state and their mascot? Third, the Ragin' Cajuns is a diverse community and this idea does not conform with who we are.

I don't see the reasoning on why we should pretend to higher and mightier philosophically than Florida.

Then what would you suggest?

A White Alligator, eh?
Wait, we had a flaming dildeaux for 20+ years. Nevermind.
Cypress Lake. Those are Louisiana Alligators, literally.

Here is one having breakfast.

Got to remember MH never forgets anything controversial. Like the “Not my Dome” crapola when the CD came into existence. No mascot post TFCC, no controversy. Can’t believe nobody caught this yet.
Running out an albino mascot won’t be received by some in the community as a good idea, hence MH will shoot it down.
Sadly, neither side forgets.
That said, just “showing up” with a mascot head without any type of prior blessing is a recipe for disaster.
I wish you the best.

Damn, I forgot Nipplehead.
How about 2 chickens, Gum and Bo?
I don’t see UL getting a mascot in my lifetime. Mascot work is hard.

Not pushing something that will never fly with the university. A bad idea is never a good idea.

We don't need to be a copy. We are unique and another "gator" is not.

We already OWN the Gator.
No need to hide from reality.

If you constrain your efforts and only push something you know will fly with the university it is guaranteed to fail with the fans.
The "university" didn't come up with Ragin' Cajuns.
A coach made it happen, but it was fans who made it go viral till the university couldn't say no.

Exactly. We can be our own worse enemy sometimes.

We're open to ideas then. The university isn't doing ____ on this front and doesn't plan to. Action is better than no action. No action leads to continued apathy

People continue to ignore the built-in tradition that we have. Instead of using and developing it, we immediately can it. Wonder why schools like Texas and Michigan have such great tradition and we have none?

Re: 01.11.25 Phase Three for Albineaux: Time to Build the Suit
Our traditions die because every new coach or outside staff member that comes in wants to create their own traditions and then get rid of the past ones. Remember the Young Ragin' Cajuns run before the football game? Gone. Baseball kept theirs (tradition is a tradition at baseball) but our traditions die because of fan apathy or new coach ego. There is also Learfield, they owns the game events, so if they are not funded, they don't happen, tradition or not. Look what happened to basketball time-outs. They used to be full of contests, fan races (remember the sumo race to flatten the trash bags and the "know the player" contest?) and more; now all gone because Learfield couldn't fund them.
