Because you don't give your high dollar space to non-paying customers. :D
Most new stadiums have the press along a sideline.

Turchin isn't all metal. Not sure what you even mean by that.

Well now (w/o Java being present you ask too much)--but I did the google deal and found photos which confirmed my thoughts---about 3 years ago I got my S-I-L to go to a game there and he was commenting how the construction was the same that he used to put up temporary structures for major golf tourneys----they install and take down and use for another one---but try to find and post!!!
Re: Construction Cam is Up!!!!!!!!
Well Boomer one of two things here....either your SIL is wrong or you are going to be extremely disappointed in the new Tigue since construction will be similar. That is to say steel supports with pre-cast concrete.

----Think I will be disappointed---Don't know a thing about construction but it is the same thing at Tulane as they do at the golf tourneys I have worked with Global Golf!!!
Re: Construction Cam is Up!!!!!!!!
Today structures of this size are never cast in place. Labor costs are too high. You can get a better quality concrete because it is cast in a casting yard. Production can happen quicker because the weather is not a factor. The two new parking garages on campus are this type of construction.

Your SIL is wrong boomer. Nobody puts up that type of structure temporarily but it fits your agenda with trashing Tulane so go for it.
Re: Construction Cam is Up!!!!!!!!
Where's the "Preparation Cam" at Fabaucher Field? I think we should have a split screen view of both fields as they move toward their epic shared roll in Cajuns Baseball history.

Perhaps Jay Walker is getting the proverbial Student Red Zone Treatment? ;)

Don't get me wrong, I do think that their facility is nice---but I love our sketch!!!
Re: Construction Cam is Up!!!!!!!!
The Tigue construction is only 5 days a week, 7.5 hours a day. Start at 8:AM, lunch 12 to 1:PM, work 1:PM to 4:30PM..........They may be milling around before 8:AM getting their work assignments. Just what I observed.

This is similar to what will be installed at the Tigue. I won't argue the point of metal at Turchin other than to say it is more substantial than any temporary facility I've ever seen erected.

The day they did the concrete pour they were at it before 6am
Re: Construction Cam is Up!!!!!!!!
That is when most concrete placements happen. Traffic is not an issue and they can wreck forms the next day. They do have to restrict activities around the fresh concrete though. I suspect this is a no overtime and no double shift project though.

Right on the time of the pour. But the prep to pour is not at 6:AM....All the digging and forming is at 8:PM. Maybe some days sooner. Just saying the project is somewhat not as urgent as the end-zone at Cajun Field. Reason, unknown.....

That being said. Even though we are behind schedule, you still have a finish date, don't you? Because of the delays it want be finished by mid-Feb. So the date should be moved up to, let's say mid-March or the end of March. Are has the finish date been removed for the contract and they finish when they finish?

There is a time on the contract. The contractor has a time line and I'm sure that if he felt that he wasn't going to meet the time he would be working on the weekends. Remember contract time is all the contractor is worried about. Baseball season is not his concern.

OK, knowing that, can't someone say what that timeline is? That way all of us will know exactly when we might be sitting in our seats at the Tigue. whether March, April or July.......
