There is a case in the legislature that says common law trumps state law.

I agree on all these fronts, but the situation is that the Sunbelt, nor anyone in the media will use the term UL, When is the last time you saw ESPN or any other network consistently use UL. They don't, they come out with there own acronym, then we get UL-LAF, LA-LAF, etc.
It's time for a change, if we are trying to become Louisiana then we need to abbreviate Louisiana, or use an acronym for Louisiana.
I have gotten to the point where I don't care how they do it LOU, LOUIS, LA, LOUANA, ISIANA, ANA, but we got to do something.

Not arguing this...just arguing the "breaking the law" statement..the school has not broken any law.

There are funds available. It's up to our administration to use creative ways of using them.
In regards to your comment about a gamble, any investment is considered a gamble. The key is to have the connicks to pull the trigger and follow through on your decision. The pros far outweigh the cons on this one.
My offer is still out there once I stop this paid gig I've been on. I don't consider it working for free. I consider it investing with no risk. I'm just looking for a commitment from UL to follow through on the Alden report.

http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/LOUis
Why are we so worried about LOU anyway, you have colleges with the same acronym. USC (South Carolina, Soufhern California), ASU (Alabama State, Alcorn State), AU(American, Auburn). UA ( Arizone, Alabama) MSU ( Michigan St., Mississippi St.) etc. y'all get my point.
I actually prefer LOUIS that was my first choice
The sports tickers use a maximum of 4 characters, a minimum of 2. They would not use LOUIS.

No it doesn't, every sports tickers has us as UL-LAF, which is six characters.

Re: Alden Report Released by University of Louisiana Athletics
Same with Tech, it's LaTech which is six characters, it's not LTU, or Ark. St. All have 6 characters. What about Penn St.? It's not PSU, if some weird reason it does use only 2 to 4 letters then LA, and for others LOUIS.

I may need to define what I call a "ticker." On some networks , I see a ticker, which only gives scores, and on some I see a banner, which is larger and gives news as well as scores. On CBS, FOX, ESPN and other tv networks, I only see 4 characters on the ticker, and as many characters as they want to use on banners.

Speaking of names, it seems "L A Tech" is sticking. Ran into a milenial, when he said that I fell over laughing. Asked me why I was laughing and I said L A Tech. He said, "well that's their name, right?"

I know this much about la tech. They scored another first round NFL player. Wonder how many Benedicts can embrace this. My days with the Benedict ended when Jake left.

Manipulating "Purpose" of the Alden Report
Yesterday, the masses were misled, yet again, by the radio media in this town.
Scott Farmer, relayed through Jay Walker, is telling people that the Alden Report was commissioned not by Savoie, and not for Atheltic progress; but to find a way to get Atheltics off of the state teet.
Joesph Savoie was seeking out people to find a consulting firm for the specific reason of getting Atheltics healthy enough to elevate it into national relevance. Becoming self sufficient would be a byproduct, but it is not the PURPOSE of the Alden Report. Anyone peddling anything otherwise, is (purposely or accidentally) spreading a lie.
Savoie commissioned the report. He signs off on everything that happens here. Without TJoe, it doesn't get done.
If the report was so specific to self sufficiency, why did Farmer refuse to work with them? Why did Farmer go out of his way to avoid questions? Why was the report made public?
Scott Farmer, through Jay Walker, is now making his boss look like a fraud. Calls have been placed to Savoie since the comment was made.

Re: Manipulating "Purpose" of the Alden Report
Sad to say, but UL administration is fraudulent in so many ways. To think we keep hoping things will chage proves how obsessed we are with this girl called UL athletics. She's a _____ teaser. She's that girl you take to a club who goes about talking to everyone but you. She needed a ride and someone to buy her drinks, you're not even getting a feel up or a kiss at nights end.

Of course he was mad. He knew any in depth study would expose his ineptness.
