I have seen him play in another TV game, and I will say this was not his best game. I think the Hill Topper defense had something to do with that though. He had a hard time when he tried to drive on them. I think he tried too hard at times to make something happen and forced some shots he should have made. For a point guard, his free throw shooting is a weakness and he gets fowled a lot trying to drive to the basket.

I hope this team makes a good run going into the conference tournament. Outside of that, I'm waiting to see the help some of our more informed basketball posters say we'll see next year. I just do not have this overall negative assessment of Marlin yet.
It's not hard to figure out how to stifle the Cajun offense. Stop or foul Payton. Force them to beat you from the perimeter. That's why we see long segments of games with poor offensive production.

Agreed. I think in theory, this roster could win, in the SBC. I understand the pieces and why they're put in the places they are. Sometimes, results just don't come. And with a coach coming off of a second do over, lack of results is not going to sit well.Quote:
