Louisiana Tech's April 2012 Student Self-Assessed Fee:
"Projects to be supported by these fees include the construction of new campus parking facilities, recreational and parade fields, stadium field house expansion, and the demolition of decommissioned dormitories."
There were two fees in this vote. The first was a renewal of an existing $20/quarter fee, and the second was a new $30/quarter fee. The fees is this package added up to $50/quarter, or $150/year per student. Turnout was low (7 percent of the student body), but this was during the SGA Elections that didn't have any contested seats. The fees passed by an 83% to 17% margin.

UL-Monroe's 2011 Student Fee Vote:
ULM wanted to pass a new fee onto the students in 2011. The fee proposal was sold to the students as helping athletics, the arts, and campus beautification. In reality, the proposal was a massive athletic fee increase proposal with a minimal fee proposal for campus beautification and the performing arts. The fee would have generated $1.8 million for ULM athletics each year, but only about $95,000/year combined for the Visual and Performing Arts and "campus beautification". If I remember correctly, the SGA focuses most of their attention on VAPA and campus beautification with almost no attention toward the athletic fee portion. I don't remember the exact figure of the fee increasr per student, but I want to say it was around $130/semester, or $260/year.
The fee failed by a vote of 53% to 47%. 1816 students voted, or about 22% turnout. Typical turnout at ULM's student elections is roughly 10% at best.

UL-Monroe's 2012 Natatorium Votes:
ULM wanted to pass fees in 2012 to renovate the natatorium into an event center and create an outdoor recreation center in Bayou Park (like the one Tech built recently). The fee to renovate the natatorium into an event center was $25/quarter, and the fee to create the Bayou Park outdoor rec center was $65/quarter. The fees added up to $90/quarter, or $180/year.
The first fee failed by a vote of 1,098 to 905 (55% to 45%). The second vote failed by a vote of 1,006 to 989 (50.4% to 49.6%).

Since I live in the northern part of the state, I'm more familiar with the happenings of Louisiana Tech and UL-Monroe than the happenings of your university. Sorry for the lack of detail about that fee increase, but I just don't know much information about the fee increase that passed at Lafayette.

Don't be a dill-weed. We are Louisiana...don't call us Lafayette.
