I wager that is what they do; we would have Wallace in reserve if needed.

The Cajuns were robbed of a 13th hit on Fernandez's slap to shortstop. Yes, Boyd air-mailed the ball to first base and an error was properly charged. However, Fernandez was clearly on top of the bag before the throw arrived over first base. The throwing error is what allowed Fernandez and Drahiem to move to second and third base respectively. Boyd simply was not going to throw out Fernandez with her best throw.

The ESPN pitch count had Wallace with 76 pitches at the end of the game ... however, one of those counted pitches was the "delay" she was hit with in the 6th inning when Boyd was at bat. So, she really had 75 pitches by ESPN's count.
However, the official box score has Wallace at 71 pitches.
Whatever the case, it was not many and it was a masterful performance.

I thought so too Brian, in fact, I was thinking Boyd looked up and rushed the throw which caused the ball to sail over the first baseman's head. She was going to be safe anyway.

That bunt was great, but Katie's bunt in the 7th was absolutely perfect.
Re: SB SR: LOUISIANA vs ASU
No doubt, base hit NAT. Should have been ruled HIT, error on throw to advance next base. Bad seeding and official scoring !
