Re: Will Bustle be at the New Orleans Bowl
I agree, Coach Bustle is a good Coach and deserves the repect and admiration of all Cajun Fans. It is unfortunate that those 2 years he lost to the last place SUNBELT teams ruined his Bowl chances. Outside that, he helped bring back the crowds to respectable. Now a new era of Cajun Football fan has emerged, WIN OR LOSE, we need to keep the fans focused on supporting the teams and giving in order to get better Faciliites and Coaches, in the event that they Move on.
As we all know, Softball and Baseball have been our consistant Winners year in and out, SO now we have potential to add Football and Basketball as a member of consistant winners.

Re: KATC is reporting that 42,000 tickets have been sold so far!!
Here's the Advertiser article yesterday with probably more accurate info:
Quote:
About 42,000 tickets to the 11th New Orleans Bowl at the Superdome already have been distributed, Executive Director Billy Ferrante said Tuesday.
"There's been brisk activity at our box office (and through) internet sales," Ferrante said. "And we're prepared for a significant walk-up — our best walk-up."

I don't care if we play in pink tutus and ballerina slippers. We are 8-4 and bowling to play for our 9th win.

Every bowl distributes a large number of tickets through their sponsor organizations and other channels. Many of those sponsors employ UL people in the GNO area. Who knows how many, but I would say a lot of alumni and their friends and family are hooked up with tickets through these sponsors (and thus, our 18k is going to go up to 25k in UL fans attending). I also believe a lot of the rest of the tickets that got distributed will be used at this game.
The SDSU side is going to look sparse at the beginning of the game, but will continue to load up after the 1st and 2nd quarter with non UL/non SDSU people. A lot of GA tickets will end up sitting in the better seats on the SDSU side. Which, in reality, will be fine. They will observe more than cheer. And what they will observe is one loud, supportive, fun and rowdy UL fanbase.
Re: UL releases schedule of New Orleans Bowl events
Which Marriott to Spanish Plaza?
Re: UL releases schedule of New Orleans Bowl events
I would believe it'd make sense that it'd be the Marriott the team is staying at.
Re: UL releases schedule of New Orleans Bowl events
NO ____!! You think? Which Marriot is it though? I'm sure it is close to Spanish Plaza, I just don't know the exact name / address of the hotel.
Re: UL releases schedule of New Orleans Bowl events

Re: Hudspeth Brings the Juice
We also need to emphasize the UL in every cheer we do... Particularly at the end of the fight song all 25000 of us need to really yell "GO UL"..... Some of the folks in the press box are liable to pick up on it

This season has been incredible for our marketability to a new conference. average 30 a year, and pack New Orleans for a bowl, and new coach has us cruising in the right direction. I'd have to believe our chances of getting into CUSA is higher now than it was just 12 months ago.
Re: Marriott - Team Hotel
WOW! That is a low blow! I do believe that today and tomorrow will be the longest days in the history of Work. Glad you made it safe and I will be headed that way as soon as I am done with this work thing. I'm staying in the Marriot also. Glad to hear it is decorated accordingly!
