Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
Did anyone watching on TV see a facemask on Ben before the 2nd Intentional Grounding?

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen going for two, missing it, and then screw you at the end of the game.
We could be be down by only 7 right now.
Correct. Never chase points early in the 3rd quarter.

Game management must improve before the crowds get bigger. They lost a lot of fans today who will never go back.

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
Passing game was miserable. 3rd down was miserable. That potential pick was the one that got away. Back to the helm, throws were miserable. O Line got owned. D Line got no stoppage on their primary RB. Passes were miserable. Cajun Fields or Lunchtime or hell maybe something was up with our starter.

Because there was nothing to lose. If you kick the PAT, you're still down 4 and need a TD. Obviously if you get the 2, you only need a FG. The upside was far greater than the downside.

Our RB’s had a total of 18 carries. EIGHTEEN CARRIES for a team whose RB room is supposed to be stacked.
Michael Desormeaux continues to make first year coaching mistakes. I want to be wrong about him but he keeps doing the same crap.
I think you are underselling Tulane. They are a year removed from 12 wins and they had K-State all but beat and played OU tough. Their QB is solid. Our pass defense was for the most part pretty good today. We are undersized on the D side, especially on the line and they just wore us down.

12.5 yards per completion. The vertical game was there all game and was our best weapon. Yes, Ben missed some throws much of that was due to pressure but he was also effective. They were going to stop our run and force us to throw. Take out the one big Bill run and we average less than 3 yards per carry.

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
The problem I have with our offense is the same problem I had with it under Napier. We have our best players on the sideline way too much. I understand the idea of the rotation but Bill Davis should be getting work horse treatment. Let him touch the ball 15-20 every game.
At WR, Harvey Broussard should be in on damn near every snap.

Did Harvey even have a catch today?

Yes, Harvey had a catch today.

Nope. Think I remember him being part of pass interference.

I will admit that I had not watched Tulane yet this year. But I have watched them the last couple years and was aware of their performance against K-State and Oklahoma. I did not really expect to win today because I knew Tulane was solid. But from what I watched today, I did not think Tulane was overly impressive on either side of the ball. Did we have something to do with that? Maybe. But other than getting blown off the LOS by their o-line every play, I did not think Tulane would as anything special today. I don’t think the Cajuns played well and even with that we should have won.

Glad to hear our coach now is as good as Napier . . . you know, the guy who Levi Lewis took to a multi million dollar contract and showed he could not do it.

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
Also if we are THAT out classed by another G5 program at the line of scrimmage then we got some major issues.

Yep. Des needs to get creative there

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
After 3 games, with two being Grambling and Kennesaw State, having 0 sacks is a HUGH problem.

I was thinking in the event we scored a TD at the end there, you put LL in the wildcat for the 2 point conversion. Have fun stopping that.

Yes, accuracy wasn't there on a lot of throws. He may have over corrected. Pass protection allowed pressure too.

LL2 might be finding his way to the next level. He’s looked solid this year.
