In my opinion, they wait to see the result of the play in the flopping situation. If he flops and we go around him and score we get the basket and get a free throw attempt. If he flops and the other teams gets rebound we get the free throw and they retain possession, if we clearly got the off rebound we get the free throw and the ball. I’d hate for them to blow the whistle right away and miss an easy lay up.
But that’s just my best guess at the rule.

Rice lost to Texas in OT earlier this week. Rice had a chance to win in regulation. That was right after Beard was suspended so Rice may have caught them at less than their best.
I expect UT to be focused for our game and win by 10+. I won't blame Marlin for that, we're not a top 5 team. Beating Texas would be one of the greatest wins in our modern history. Now if we get blown out (remember IU last year) that's another story.
