We should be very satisfied. The bowl officials allocated tickets to UL with the anticipation that it would be a record crowd. I figure the sum of tickets given to UL was with that record crowd in mind. We've done our part. It's a near sell-out of tickets that we were given!!! Heck, it even actually has a great chance to be a complete sell-out of our portion. Should we be happy? Heck Yeah!!
If we could get the baby sitter for Thursday we do that but as of now eight Friday morning.
We are bringing a party of about ten. Both my bestfriends from highschool and one just so happens to be a damn nechster! He is being a good sport and is wearing a UL shirt for the game so he is at least a semi smart Rustonain. Haha. I had originally bought my tickets through UL but then was given a handful through R&L so I was able to invite a few people who have never attended a game. We will be in sec 335 at the 45yd. Shouldn't be to bad a view. I look for to showing both of them how we have a good time and how we play Ragin Cajun football!!!
Come on and get here Saturday!!
Mesperos is our family favorite so I'm hoping to eat their twice. We have been so much the waitress' recognize us haha makes me giggle! My cousin is flying in from south Carolina just for the bowl game! He recently came back from Iraq and I can't wait to show him what a good time is Cajun fans are as this will be his first game!
agree, poor job by the ticket office. they need help.
good question. the best seats in the superdome are on the 200 level close to the 50 yard line.
Not only is it our first bowl appearance in 41 years, that is big enough, add to that we will shatter the attendance record for the N.O. Bowl in this game, which currently sits at 30,228 but more importantly:
With a Cajun win this year, for the first time in the history of the N.O. Bowl the SBC will have a winning record, currently the SBC record in the N.O. Bowl sits at 5-5, we could be the first team ever to get the SBC to a winning record in the bowl that was created for us! This is huge.
Geaux Cajuns!!!!!
Shivaun said on the news last night that we probably were not going to get anymore tickets. Which means we maxed out what they were willing to give to us.
I wonder if prior attendance numbers reported were tickets sold, distributed or actual turnstile count? Each one of those numbers could be significantly different.
Hop on 310 right after Hahnville High school. It will put you on i-10 about ten miles west of the NOLA airport.
I can't believe people are actually complaining about any of this. Flawed though it might be, it is still a thing of beauty to me.
As of yesterday, the New Orleans Bowl had not given the green light to opening the upper deck of the Dome. If they don't then the attendance for this year's game could be artificially "sold out" at around 35,000. Apparently there are extra costs associated with opening the upper level (security, ushers, cleaning, etc.) that the Bowl has never had to face.
For the beer connoisseurs, try Crescent City Brew House on Decatur. Excellent beers and raw oysters as good as I've had anywhere. The rest of the menu is quite good also. Will be there Friday afternoon.
I hope to be there. Friend supposed to be getting us tickets. Just waiting on his confirmation.

Good morning Ragin Cajuns fans!! Good luck this week!
Where is CajunWave with more doomsday scenario's. BTW, this game is getting out to the masses. I have had several friends ask me if we really sold 18K in tickets. I expect a great walkup crowd with the two lower levels near capacity!!!!
33-35k is a good attendance will give cajun backers something to shoot for in the future. While it's cool a good school like SDSU got the nod, the reality is they would have had to go to Guam to find a team from further away for this game. If they could have matched us up with a school like SMU they would have well in excess of forty thousand.
Just picked up my 11 tickets yesterday.... The Ticket Office had a sign that said
"Please be patient with us.... We have waited 40+ years" or something like that
For a frequent critic of the Administration (PRIOR ADMIN) I do want to give them some slack... I think next year they will be better at handling things.. This was their first time so lets give them a bit of slack... I am in the endzone... Who cares... Its been 40 years and I am damn happy to be anywhere and see the Vermillion and White running out onto the floor of a bowl game...
