Re: Stadium construction pics
I like it. Rolls Gulf States, Big West, Belt, etc. into one timeline.
As for our lighting structures, we really burnt the midnight oil coming up with those. Look like a gate(s) over a cattle guard.

Well, I agree that it sure looks that way. The schedule is to be ready for this October, and I have never seen anything official of where we are to meet that goal. Maybe someone else does?

So people buying season tickets right now, in anticipation of sitting in the new stadium, may not be able to do so until October?

Just to give more information on the east side construction project. I don’t want this post to sound like an “I know something you don’t know”.
I sat through a one hour presentation/rendering of what UL is proposing for the Kinesiology/Hospitality upgrade of the east side. The structure that is being proposed will consist of 4 levels at roughly 66K sf. It will basically be built into the “levee” on that side. Ground floor will have a kitchen area and RCAF offices, next level up(even with top of stands) will be a dining area for our student athletes and concessions and restrooms, next up a club area then at the top will be the press box and athletic offices.
Lots of windows to look out on the field and architecturally it will have the same type of arches like the west side and The Tigue.
Roughly a 30-35M project which will be dependent on the state’s capital outlay budget with UL having to provide funding for those areas not considered academic areas(press box for instance).
Just remember this is the first rendering and you go from there depending on the $$$ situation.

Thank you for the update. Is there any word if the lower bowl on that side would have to be replaced (due to ada codes like the west side)?

We didn’t get into that but I would assume so.

Yes it is being replaced this off season along with a new turf.

So if UL doesn't get money from the state this project might not happen? I guess it is safe to say this project will not start after the west side.

Let's build from scratch one side of the new Swamp at a time. Is that asking too much?
The fact that you're not complaining about the west side is down right spectacular news for that side of field.

Rest assured…it will get funded.
Re: Stadium construction pics
Thanks for sharing, Beau. I noticed a few days ago LA budget officials finally acknowledged the 600+ million budget surplus from last fiscal year so I was hopeful that projects on the capital outlay would be funded.

Did the design seem to be built directly over the east concourse butted up to the lower bowl? Or built back near where concessions are? Trying to use my lil brain to imagine.

Kind of butted up. It doesn’t look like it will take up too much of current parking. There will be 18 wheeler/truck access from the parking area. They need to be able to access to deliver for the kitchen area as well as press box. Two sets of elevators. One from the lobby area on the ground floor as well as a service set to access different areas from the kitchen.

Beau mentioned the East side project and now your going to question me for asking him a legitimate question about what he posted. Geez you guys are unreasonable at times.
