We have some awesome fans, just need everybody there lil' bit earlier. Coastal is a coiled snake ready.
Let's Geaux Acadiana.
If we want to play ourselves back into at large contention we must win this series. A sweep would be even better.

Re: BB G1 Final: Louisiana 11, Coastal 9
I feel we just lost our best pitcher for a bullpen that I already have very little hope in… this is one the worst pitching staffs we have had at this school in a while… we have no ace, but just a bunch of bullpen arms that you hope play to the potential they have while praying we have a 6+ run lead going into the 9th so we can win. Some of these pitchers have good pitches but can’t hit the strike zone… we might have more hit batters and walks then we do strikeouts.

Re: BB G1 Final: Louisiana 11, Coastal 9
He threw 62 pitches over 5 innings. The 19 pitches on Tuesday is a moot point. Like another post said, they don’t even make you rest in little league after throwing less than 20 pitches. It’s just an unfortunate injury. We know our coaches can’t manage a pitching staff, but if they take him out and we start giving up runs, y’all would still be _____ing

We dont have the worse pitching staff in history. We have the most inconsistent staff we have ever had

After what happen to Theut, i think we will be overcautious when in those situations.

Let that sink in as you attempt to crucify the coaches.
Kids that age are a little different. Way less stress on their arms. Way less torque on ligaments and tendons. Not saying its better or worse but thats the facts

That statement is 100% True for every throwing arm injury in the history of baseball.
Also true going back 100k years when the 1st caveman rock throwing arm injury happened. One rock too many.... :-)

I still have a good feeling about this weekend.

Comparing little league “pitchers” to this level is just ignorant. Theut was on a pitch count for a reason.

Good thing Deggs set the offensive run benchmark at 10.

Between your feeling and Jeweler’s sweep we should be fine.

You can’t blame this all on the staff. The staff went to pull him when he first showed it was hurting. Then Thuet waived the staff off and threw another strike and his arm let go.
It’s the perfect damned if you do and damned if you don’t situation.
I’m also way more of an old school approach to pitching though. If your arm is conditioned properly and your throwing regimen is adhered to then you tend to be more durable.
Also, there are higher risks involved with different arm slots for pitchers. So many variables go into it, sometimes it’s just “____ happens”.

This right here. Consistency has been missing this season.

Theut’s injury had nothing to do with over user. He threw less than 60 pitches. And he has been out with back issues.

The comment made about rest required during youth baseball is referring to Pitch Smart, which was developed by USA Baseball & Major League Baseball. Just putting that out there.

MLB and USA baseball have been so successful avoiding arm injuries right?????? So successful that we have never had more TJ surgeries and so successful that we are afraid to throw our best pitchers in the World Baseball Classic which directly led to our loss to Japan.

CC has scored 395 runs in 40 games. 9.9 runs a game. 10 runs is cutting it close. :)

Nobody involved with baseball throughout its history has been successful at preventing arm injuries.

You can judge it however you like, the prevailing theories and current state of pitching has in my opinion led to less success and created more “throwers” and less “pitchers”. Forgive me if I question it.

Accurate......can add pitchers before returning will be stretching out their arm in multiple bullpen sessions prior to any return from injury. To Theut's credit he was clearly physically prepared.....he showed 0 hints of fatigue.
Can also add......his innings were relatively low stress. Few baserunners and 3 ball counts. Dude was freaking dialed in out their.
Looking ahead......1 or both of the remaining starters will rise to the challenge. Also Christie seems to rise to his best when we play stronger opponents. We got another win or 2 coming this weekend. Last weekend was a complete team brain fart....it was a brutal lesson learned.
Plus 2022 Rocco showed up last night.....he's ba'ack!!!
