All Coach Napier has to do is spend a couple of days anonymously in Baton Rouge interacting with the citizens before he signs the dotted line.

I think Napier is gone after this year, because next year will be a reload year. Plus he will win a conference championship before he goes and that will happen this year!

And this is why he stayes for a few more years...this has been his #2 reason not to leave.

Yes, we lose a few guys, but look at the 2 deep. It is loaded with young guys. It may be a reload year, but it won't be a rebuild year. We are absolutely loaded with young talent, and our talent level has improved with every new recruiting class. We may take a game or two to adjust next year, but I anticipate another 10 or more wins next year.
I expect Napier to be here at least until his first class of recruits graduates.

What does he lose? We only have 10 seniors.
OL Ken Marks
DL Tayland Humphrey
LB Ferrod Gardner
LB Chauncey Manac
QB Levi Lewis
WR Jamal Bell
WR Jalen Williams.
A big hit on defense, but those guys are replaceable. Offensively we will be better next year than this year.

That's a lot of studs right there. I hope Napier sees it as you do.

Only 3 of those guys have really done anything this year.

I'll give you the 2 WR's
...the rest will make one of the all SBC teams...

So now we have 4 integral players on a team that is 18 and 2 in the last two years that have really done nothing. . . interesting . . .

I doubt it.

You’re right. Chauncey Manac won’t make it

Some of those guys on that senior list have under achieved.

Gardner
Manac
Humphrey
Those are the only 3 that will hurt.

….one of my questions at the QB club had a reference to that a coach would stay at a situation with this type of talent returning…..we have some commits that could maybe play now….some guys that will commit…..and I would think some portal prospects that might even warrant starting jobs……add to this the red shirt and young puppies waiting out the year….who will venture a guess at next year,s starting crew? The 3 top RBs from this year, the remaining WRs, and LeGendre at QB!

Five of the seven are starters, and one has started.
I'm not agreeing with your assessment.

Re: Meanwhile at Tigger Pooping
At some point -SOONER rather than later - $4-6m more per year is too hard to keep turning down

They are really good players and 2 could land on an nfl roster next season. But all of them are replaceable. Big Sauce will be the hardest to replace.

Without question

Re: Meanwhile at Tigger Pooping
I think more than money, Napier will eventually leave because this fan base has proved it won’t support a successful program.
-
Re: Meanwhile at Tigger Pooping
Florida fired their D coordinator so I think Mullen is safe for another year. Unless they lose to FSU then he’s gawn pecawn
-
Re: Meanwhile at Tigger Pooping
Butler and Mitchell could also leave for the draft

This I agree with. Especially Tayland. Honestly, beyond him, I thought we were a little light on the interior defensive line this year.
And with that, I'm hoping Napier knows who is gonna fill the spots and staying around to reload.

Re: Meanwhile at Tigger Pooping
I'm curious on the etiquette involved in a coach leaving a program. Does he do like some of us who put in our two weeks notice and do some cross training or leave behind documentation for the new guy? Things that need attention? Guys/families to reach out to and address any concern/fears over a regime change? Positions that need reloading?
Would be an interesting Q&A. Wonder if Ragin Review can get a hold of Rich Rodriguez during ULM week and ask some of those questions.
Or maybe even Ricky Bustle if you guys can get a hold of him.

Re: Meanwhile at Tigger Pooping
Every team loses people each year. It's not like we are losing 5 starters and everybody else gets to keep all their guys. We have recruited VERY well the last several years. I don't expect any huge drop off, and I doubt CBN does. Replacing a 3 year starter at QB may take some growing pains.
