In the same way I’m not going to bash our schedule for including an FCS opponent (majority of teams play one), I’m also not going to praise it for including P4 road games (every G5 team plays those). By that logic, every schedule in the country “ain’t too bad.”

I will agree it would be nice to have some more appealing matchups at Cajun Field. But for some that say "fire maggard" over current scheduling is a bit of a overreaction.

I see one person in about 10 pages of discussion saying Maggard needs to go. I’m also not on the “Fire Maggard” train. If we are looking at Maggard’s legacy though, his black mark here is not mediocre football scheduling. It’s whatever the hell it is that he’s let our basketball program become.

I agree and was talking about this recently. As much good as Maggard has done as UL AD his legacy will forever be overshadowed by retaining Marlin due to a personal relationship.

Maggard’s salary is too high for him to let personal relationships get in the way of doing what is best for UL Athletics.

FWIW, Lamar beats McLeast in LC 26-24 on a 5 yard TD pass with 1 second left.
