Re: Game Thread (Louisiana vs Boise St)
Yeah, when you're a threat to run the ball those cornerbacks and safeties tend to creep up closer into the box for containment. No more turning your back to the ball and knowing that the QB will just throw it away under pressure. Over the top will be open (maybe not game one), but a lot of deep balls will come. I think his running ability will be the key to the Boise game. If you MAKE them respect your legs, then you hit'em with quick slants, play actions......

Zone Read him and the defense collapses on Eli, he gives you the House Call. Zone Read him after the house call and Eli scampers for 70+ untouched.
If the offense is drawn correctly in the dirt, we will see an electric and high scoring team.
That's the scary part.

Crystal Ball Projections (If full season is played) - Our QB's tend to miss time every year.
Passing: 2800 yrds / 18 TD's
Rushing: 900 yrds / 10 TD's
Totals: 3700 yrds / 18 TD's
AJ is Gautier and Broadway morphed into one person. The difference is better mechanics, faster, bigger, & smarter.
So if gautier and Broadway had a baby it would be AJ?
Re: Game Thread (Louisiana vs Boise St)
Well, the pre-season depth chart has the line as follows:
LT: Archie Lewis (Jr. 6-4 295)
LG: Travis Averill (Sr. 6-3 299) - 2nd Team All MWC
C: Mason Hampton (Jr. 6-3 290)
RG: Stephen Baggett (Sr. 6-3 290) - 3rd Team All MWC
RT: Mario Yakoo (Sr. 6-4 320) - 4th Team All MWC
Let's see how our hogmollies match up with their bigs.....
Other notables to gameplan against:::::
QB: Brett Rypien (1st Team All MWC) - Stud
RB: Jeremy McNichols (1st Team All MWC) - 1800 combined yards 26 td's
WR: Thomas Sperbeck (1st Team All MWC) - 1400 yards 8 td's
LB: Joe Mararano (6-3 228 - 1st Team All MWC)
K: Tyler Rausa (1st Team All MWC)
With all that said......We WILL be in this game

Is that holding true?
Re: Game Thread (Louisiana vs Boise St)
They will have a lot of inexperience on the defensive side especially in the secondary...should see "up to 6" freshman getting PT at some point vs the Cajuns. Need to take advantage quickly with the deep ball.
Re: Game Thread (Louisiana vs Boise St)
The football players all know Jennings should be starter (which is good see Haack debate last year)
His release and decision making are heads and shoulders above any other QB on the team .
However players I talked to say Him and Davis athletic ability are on par
