NWST is not Texas Southern from a few years ago, but they were not a good team last year. They got the doors blown off USM 64-10. This year they are picked 5th out of 8 Southland teams. Even if we were a bad FBS team, this game would not be close.

This is not last year's NWST team, that being said, I am not saying they are going to be a good team, but I will say this, probably 50% of their 2 deep will be new transfers from FBS schools.Quote:

Brad Laird has an overall HC coaching record at NWST of 16-35 and 15 of those wins were in the Southland Conference. I think Covid saved him otherwise he would have been gone already.
Their starting QB has FBS experience from Wyoming and was pretty good there, he then transferred to Idaho State. They return a number of really good players mixed with a number of transfers. I still think we win by a wide margin, but Coach Laird is putting all of his eggs in this years basket to save his JOB.
