2023 Mihyia Davis

Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball incoming freshman outfielder Mihyia Davis was chosen by the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) as its winner of the 2021-22 Class 1A-2A-3A-4A Softball Athlete of the Year.

Davis, who completed her prep career at Lovelady (Texas) High School, signed an NLI to join the Ragin' Cajuns back in November 2021.

In earning one of the TGCA's top honors , Davis posted an impressive .659 average during the spring 2022 season with Lovelady HS.

All state in three different sports is very impressive.

As good as they look on paper, you really never know until they take the field in college. It's a whole different level. However, I do expect both of them to compete for a starting position. We'll just have to wait and see how it all shakes out. Glasco was able to get all of the last year's incoming freshmen playing time. He did a great job doing that, as not one of them entered the portal.
