Ragin' Cajuns begin five-game road trip at Lamar
<! But the Cajuns better not be looking ahead, if they want to continue a six-game win streak and remain among the national leaders in victories and winning percentage.
Mostly, the Cajun squad better not be looking past a mad bunch of Lamar Cardinals.
Lamar (24-12) came to Lafayette exactly three weeks ago and were thoroughly embarrassed in a 23-3 loss.
"You never expect anything like that to happen," Cajun head coach Tony Robichaux said. "I figure they'll be gunning for us a little bit."

It's the Cajuns who have been doing the gunning in recent games, rolling to three home wins over Texas-Pan American by a combined 31-12 score over the weekend after winning their last three road games entering that series.
Those six wins boosted UL to 29-6 on the year, tying for the third-highest win total in the nation entering today's play. The Cajuns' winning percentage also ranks fifth nationally, and the squad is ranked in the top 20 in three different national polls.
An, those three recent road wins turned around a rough road start for the Cajun squad, which won only one of its first four on opposing fields.
Lamar is coming off 10-5 and 2-0 wins over UL Monroe on Saturday and Sunday, and the Cards are in second place in Southland Conference play with a 9-3 league mark. Steve MacFarland and Scott Vander Weg combined to three-hit the Indians in Sunday's win.
"We're going to play our next five on the road," Robichaux said, "so it was important for us to rest some guys and have everybody fresh."
Robichaux has tabbed Micah Cockrell (2-1, 1.59 ERA) for his first-ever start tonight.
"We want to look at him in a start, and he may have a chance to become our third starter if it doesn't weaken our bullpen," Robichaux said. "That's a tough place to play, and he's a tough-minded guy."
