"Shop Local Acadiana" has just kicked off their advertising campaign to encourage people to spend their money with locally owned businesses instead of national retail chains. They say that when we do, 3 times more of our money stays right here in our local economy for local businesses to hire, invest and contribute more.
Why not bank locally as well..
There are some terrific local community banks that support non-profits, local schools, sports teams, fesitvals, UL. they give back to their communities, employ family and neighbors, and pay local taxes.. Money invested in local community banks are loaned back to small businesses, and families right here in Acadiana, not in Ohio, New York, Europe, etc...
People are quick to say shop locally, what about bank locally?
I'm just saying.....
