Statistics Question

Both the NCAA and I compute the ERA of our pitchers being:

Ryan: 3.33
Wheeler: 3.77
Clary: 4.12
Noble: 5.07

Stats on ragincajuns.com show:

Ryan: 4.29
Wheeler: 4.84
Clary: 5.29
Noble: 6.52

The number of innings pitched and the number of earned runs allowed by each pitcher are the same on both sites.

I don't know who does the stats computations for our website or, more likely, what formula the spread sheet or data base uses, but it needs to be corrected.

FWIW, the WHIP shown on ragincajuns.com for each pitcher agrees with my computations. The NCAA does not compute WHIP.

The .pdf version shows the accurate ERAs. The “xml” version is inaccurate. Reason is the xml is calculating ERA based on 9 innings pitched/game instead of 7 as it should be.

Just a settings fix they need to make.

Seems straightforward enough to calculate.

I don't think it was on the website (and it was a different sport) but Marlin won 75% of his games.

So who knows?

Yep. That was how I computed it. The "xml" stats on the website computes it per 9 innings.
