Could not buy one tonight either. Nor could anyone but Mo and Mike. 67-49 ODU, 2-18 from 3.
Thank you guys for hanging in there this season.

Beyond not being able to hit outside shots, the size differential got Cajuns. ODU dominated glass most of night. Monarchs had several baskets due to 2nd shots. I also wonder if fatigue became factor. Game was 38 all with about 14 minutes to go. Wheels came off at that point.

Shots were so off fatigue could have been the cause. But we’ve been inconsistent all year. Our need to dribble contributed to poor shots as clock wore down. Too often. Neither Coach could get that out of our kids. They sure do love to dribble.
Men's Basketball: Offensive Effort by El Moutaouakkil and Thomas Not Enough Against ODU

PENSACOLA, Florida - Mostapha El Moutaouakkil and Michael Thomas once again shouldered the offensive load for the Louisiana men's basketball team but it wasn't enough as the team was eliminated from the Sun Belt Conference Championships in a 67-49 defeat against Old Dominion on Wednesday in the Pensacola Bay Center.

I mentioned in another thread that we didn’t match up very well with them and their size advantage physically wore us down. Their guards are big and strong and their big plays like a man.
That is something I’d like to see with the new coach. Big, physical and strong guards. And obviously the inside game needs a boost. We were physically outmatched in every game we played this year minus the UT Dallas game. And even then we weren’t dominant. I look forward to having a physically imposing team soon.
Re: MBB: Offensive Effort Not Enough Against ODU
I watched both entire two conference tournament games. Besides Mo and Michael Thomas. No one on this team should be playing Division 1 basketball besides Garnett who was totally off. Pathetic shooting. My middle school son's team can shoot better. Hardy has digressed. Did yall see that wide open layup he missed? LMAO
Time for a total remake of the team along with the new HC and new coaching staff.
Re: MBB: Offensive Effort Not Enough Against ODU
14-19 ODU wins again, knocks off Texas State. App up next, winnable game.
Sunbelt gonna sunbelt. That long layoff for the top seeds will bite someone.

Fatigue? So, no other team has fatigue? We were one of, if not the worst, 3 pt shooting teams in the conference so not sure fatigue had anything to do with it

Every team would love big physical guards.

If every team didn't look for 3 point shooters to play guard, they could get all the long, athletic physical guards they need. If your players aren't shooting 40% or better from three point range, they shouldn't take any contested 3's. Recruit slashing scorers who are high motor relentless defenders and play old school Bob Knight basketball.
