The Business Model Isn't Working
The annual report from the Louisiana legislative auditor’s office on UL’s athletic department included two instances where the university’s statement was understated or misclassified.
Duane Bailey, the department’s chief financial officer, said it’s easy to explain why that happened.
“It’s basically the capitalized interest for Cajun Field, the bond that was issued,” Bailey said. “Normally, we wouldn’t have even reflected it, but the auditors had requested that we included it in there. So you won’t see it next year.

Just call it what it actually is, an "Advertising Expense" for the University and be done with it.

It's the lack of attendance, stupid....and making bone headed department mistakes and not taking responsibility for them...
Re: The Business Model Isn't Working
The question is: what Atheltic departments across the country are not operating at a large deficit?

Initially "rules" never have or will keep a single person away.
However, how they were made to feel while there has ruled out their returning.
Not only that, but they become a sounding board that convinces 10 others into not even trying

Students have no interest in Cajuns games. They want to get drunk and make bad decisions in the parking lot, and we put every hurdle imaginable in front of them doing that, to the point where it's easier to just drive to Nicholson Drive
