Assistant coach Derrick Zimmerman to serve as interim coach

LAFAYETTE – University of Louisiana Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Bryan Maggard announced Thursday a change in the leadership of its Men's Basketball program.

"After an on-going evaluation of our men's basketball program, it was decided a change was necessary," Maggard said. "These decisions are never easy, and this one was not made hastily. I am extremely grateful for the leadership Bob Marlin has provided the past several years. We wish he and his family all the best moving forward."

Interesting. Was not expecting this to happen now but it is needed

Attendance on Sunday versus McNeese will be higher than any game in the last five years

Maggard has done a great job on all of his coaching hires so far

While I am not that surprised of his dismissal I am surprised of the timing.

contractually mandated extensions.... don't give him a chance to win "3 games in March"

Sweet!!!! I can start going to basketball games again!!! I'll be there this weekend!!!

He went out a last game winner.

Some are saying attendance will increase.

Not this season.

The ones responsible for keeping him 15 years will boycott the rest of the season.

I predict a short boost will overcome the boycott but wont be sustained unless the interim goes on some kind of winning streak.
