Natalie Mayes recorded a school-record seventh shutout of the season for the Louisiana soccer team but the offense couldn't breakthrough at Arkansas State in a 0-0 draw on Thursday in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
It was the first draw between the two schools in the 28th all-time meeting.

Just seems like we can't get over the hump. Get shots on goal but don't finish. Get leads then let them tie.

They have improved. Will probably finish with more points than the past couple of years. You love to see the wins, but the draws count for something. Only 3 losses with a few games to go until the conference tournament is not bad.
One of those against App we'd sure like to have back. They scored in the 83rd or so mark to go to break a scoreless tie.

At the same time, only one win in conference in 7 tries. Defense is solid, offense, not so much.
Last 3 matches against teams that are beatable. USM, Georgia State and Marshall.

YES !!!! The girls are improving so much. Coach McBride knows what he is doing.
We may need to find a striker or 2 in the future, but the program is on the right track.

Yeah in soccer it should always be about the defense first and foremost. It certainly seems like that is in a good position. I haven't had a chance to catch any games this year so no idea if they need strikers or mid-fielders to feed things up front. With that said seems like we are getting shots just not very good ones. Top notch strikers are a hard get at any level.
