As the 2024 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football season draws closer, Ragin' Cajuns Sports Properties, a division of Learfield, has announced its radio broadcast team for the upcoming season, beginning with Saturday's season opener against Grambling.
Jay Walker will mark his 33rd football season, once again handling play-by-play duties. Cody Junot will join Walker in the booth after seven seasons on the sidelines while Dawson Eiserloh will join the football broadcast team as the sideline reporter.
Steve Peloquin, who is in this third decade on the broadcasts, will co-host the Pregame Show along with former Cajuns' wide receiver Richie Falgout. The show, which starts two hours prior to kickoff, will air live from the all-new Cajuns Village tailgate area when the Cajuns play at home.
"First of all, we want to thank Gerald Broussard for the years he served as lead analyst," said Ragin' Cajuns Sports Properties General Manager, Brian Bille. "Gerald's expertise and humor on our broadcasts will be missed; ultimately, he wants to spend more time with family. With Cody's knowledge of the Cajuns, it was a natural move to put him in the booth with Jay and expand Dawson's role after his outstanding job on women's basketball broadcasts."
The broadcast team will be in temporary housing for the 2024 season as construction continues on the west side of the stadium in anticipation of Our Lady of Lourdes stadium, beginning next fall.

Anybody know Cody Junot’s football background?

Gonna miss Gerald but Cody will do just fine.

My personal opinion is that Cody is being groomed to take over for Jay when Jay retires, hopefully no time soon.

I believe Cody played football at Acadiana High. He is been the sideline reporter for several years. He knows the game well. Personally I believe Dawson Eiserloh has the greatest chance to be the next Jay Walker.

I believe Eric Mouton will take Jay's place.

Ian or bust to replace Jay. Just my two cents.

Eric mouton is a great color guy. Doesn’t blab or talk over the play by play. I’m not sure he is a play by play guy, or wants that position. Great color though. My vote would be Dawson for the future PBP.
Jays been doing it since I was 10. I vaguely remember don allen. But I hope to hear Jay for many more years. I really wish he’d get back on radio.
