Transfer Portal is temporarily closed.

New players added to the portal across FBS in the last several days have slowed down bigly.

UL remains at 4 out, 4 in. Our 4 out is amongst the lowest in Sun Belt & FBS.

I don't have statistics but it appears at minimum 50% in FBS have not signed with a new team yet. There seems to be a glut in WR, RB and QB available in portal

"Never stop recruiting"...

Especially when you you already have them in house.

First question: No; the portal closing just means that no one else can enter the portal.

Second Question: Among the UL guys leaving only Gant [Houston] has officially landed anywhere. Chriss is rumored to UCF, but has not yet signed.

First: Unless you are a graduate student you can enter at any time.

Second: No athlete has to commit or sign right now. They can enroll and be put on a Pell Grant that would go against their Scholarship. They would sign in February. Or wait until after Spring Practice. UL signee Gooch committed to Texas Tech but was offered $40K for the Spring Semester for basically a tryout for a scholarship.

The ones that are really good that entered the portal most probably were tampered to enter the portal. I think you will see some more enter the portal right before the deadline and sign quickly with another team. The ones that enter late and sign quickly were truly tampered with to enter the portal which is illegal but not being enforced by any body.

I hope our engineering department got a pkus up, oh wait

What if their NIL or their parents income is too much for a pell grant
