2019 - 10-3 Record - Play a 5-loss MAC team

2020 - 9-1 Record - Play a 4-loss CUSA team

2021 - 12-1 Record - Play a 5-loss CUSA team

2022 - 6-6 Record - Play a 5-loss AAC team

2023 - 6-6 Record

CBS: Iowa State
Fox Sports: Syracuse
Athlon: Wyoming
247sports: California
On3: Air Force

Two consecutive 6-6 seasons and we end up with probably our two best bowl match-ups (by name recognition) to date

Maybe Martin Hall had it right all along

Has to do with tie-ins and honestly needs to be fixed. No reason we deserve to play another P5 in a bowl. The top 1/3 of the SBC needs to get those matchups. It’s just you never know what bowls are available. The SBC did have their hand in eliminating potential bowl eligible teams during the OOC regular season.

But what are the payouts....

Haven’t figure it out yet? The powers that be aren’t about to give a strong G5 a shot at anyone from a P5 unless forced to, like Central Michigan getting the magic ticket a year ir so back due to Covid.

The NY6 is the only nugget they offer. Watch the Sunday the extremes they’ll go to. JMU will get hosed, probably a 6-6 MAC team.

Projections are almost never right except for NY6 and some of the other top bowls.

When projections first came out some years back, I feel like some of them were very good, and based on actual data, but espn didn't want those other projections to be right so turned all the picks upside down once they started controlling more and more bowls
