LSU downs the Cajuns in both games 6-1 and 8-2
LSU pitchers simply outclassed the Cajun bats today at Alex Box. LSU gave up only 2 hits in game 1. The Cajuns lone run coming in the 9th inning off a 2 error routine ground ball misplayed by the third baseman and the left fielder going under both of their gloves.
Game 2 was more of the same with LSU jumping out to an early 3-0 lead in the 1st inning.
Cajuns never led in any of the 2 games.

Bummer & Bummer. 18 innings had to be tough to watch with zero offense

I only stayed for game 1 and knew going in that it would be a pitchers duel. Most of LSUs runs in game 1 came in the 9th and 10th inning. It was an 18 inning day with a 45 min intermission after the 10th.

In 18 innings the Cajuns scored only 1 earned run and struck out 22 times with only 5 hits.

Sheesh. I know it’s just a fall scrimmage but that is no bueno.

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team matched reigning national champion LSU on the mound for eight innings before the Tigers scored five runs in their final two at-bats of the first part of an 18-inning scrimmage on Sunday at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.
LSU claimed a 6-1 win in the 10-inning scrimmage before posting an 8-2 win in an eight-inning contest.
Jack Martinez and Louis-Philippe Langevin combined for six strikeouts for Louisiana with each pitcher tossing a pair of shutout innings with JT Etheridge tossing a scoreless inning. LSU broke a scoreless contest in the eighth inning on Hayden Travinski's RBI single before the Ragin' Cajuns knotted the game in the ninth when Jackson Halter led off with a single and eventually scored on a Tiger error.

Why is NCAA not consistent on which sports (and how many times) can play intercollegiate contests during the offseason

Because while the NCAA was busy deciding what a private school could call itself (mascot wise) they let the cat out the bag on what was actually happening in the sports world
