LOUISIANA – The Louisiana soccer team came up just short against Lamar on Sunday, September 10 at the Home Bank Soccer/Track Complex in the first meeting between the teams at Louisiana since 2016.
Despite a valiant defensive effort, the Ragin' Cajuns fell to the defending Southland Conference Champions by a final score of 2-0.

1 shot on frame against Southland team going into conference play. Yikes.

Don't assume a team's level of play just by conference. Lamar was 15-2-2 last year. Haven't played much competition this year but every one of their wins has been a shutout.

…but teams like South Alabama and Abilene Christian beat them, which is where we should be at. Lamar is a good team, but not as good as they were last year. Still, 1 shot on frame is not good going into conference….and at HOME.

….. but we beat USF and they beat LSU. Can’t let one game determine how good a team is. Lamar has won 3 straight and we will see how they stack up against the best tomorrow when they host Xavier.
