Re: Final AP football poll
and with that we have a consistently ranked Louisiana Football program.
We finished 15 last year and 16 this year.
Let's keep this train rolling!
Re: Final AP football poll
I just can't believe they didn't bump us up to #10/11. Shocked, just shocked.

Lol we just need to read another 1000 articles about AP polls
Re: Final AP football poll
Exactly as I suspected. I am very happy with being in the Top 25. I know some people here thought we were going to be higher, but at the end of the day, back to back Top 25 seasons.
Geaux Cajuns!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Final AP football poll
It is still insane to me that a team can finish in the top 25 of this sport consistently and win conference championships with a zero chance of ever making the playoffs.
Re: Final AP football poll
The ranking didn't budge?
This tells me they are projecting instead of analyzing.
The stasis is evidently based on change of HC and portaletting of high profile transfers.
What they are saying is Louisiana isn't as good as its record, when I actuality the transfer offer destinations are saying Louisiana is better than its record.
Reminds me of the writer who said wouldn't vote for Aaron Rogers as MVP because of how he handled the vaccine issue.
Lots of clouded judgment in these matters.
Re: Final AP football poll
I am predicting, we will not be ranked pre season top 25, but its not how you start, its how you finish just like this year.

With Cinci making it, you eliminated the argument that a G5 can’t make the playoff. So I wouldn’t say there’s zero chance. However, it also showed us how much of an uphill climb it is and how important it is for everything to fall in place perfectly so the committee can’t keep you out. Could the Cajuns replicate that? Never say never, but it would be a harder road than Cincinnati just took. Which means close to zero, but not quite.
Re: Final AP football poll
Shocking simply shocking.
Re: Final AP football poll
Also remember, while Cincy is a G5 today, they are also a team that announced during the season that they are soon going to be P5. Cincy had already announced that they were joining the Big 12. While I am not a conspiracy theorist, I wonder how that might have impacted Cincy's run to the CFP Playoff. The other piece is that Cincy made it hard for the CFP to leave them out. Cincy played and defeated two P5 teams, one of the issues with the Cajuns is our MO is not to play two P5 teams, only to play 1. Dr. Maggard has stated emphatically that the perfect schedule includes, 1 P5 Road, 1 G5 Road, 1 G5 Home and a FCS Home game. At this point, the Cajuns are not set up to be in the CFP because they would have to defeat the 1 P5 team and hope that the G5 teams they play are really good and even then I don't think they would get the respect they need, because it wouldn't be vs 2 P5 teams. Cincy beat a Top 10 team in ND a 2-10 Indiana team, a 7-6 MAC team and Murray State out of conference. What helped them was beating a Top 25 Houston team and a decent SMU team at the time during the season.
