Where will Louisiana rank in Final College football polls?
I've looked at all of the bowl match ups. IF Louisiana wins the New Orleans bowl, they should end the season ranked between 10 & 12 in the final rankings.
Re: Where will Louisiana rank in Final College football polls?
I am going with #23 in CFP.....they have ZERO respect for any G5 v G5 wins.
& #14 in AP & Coaches polls.
Re: Where will Louisiana rank in Final College football polls?
I don’t think there’s another CFP ranking. They don’t do another one after the national championship. Right?

That is correct. Purpose of CFP rankings is to determine four playoff teams and rankings for NY6 bowls. That's been done and so are they.

Same thing as Policarp said.
Re: Where will Louisiana rank in Final College football polls?
Anything inside the top 15 AP and Coaches would be incredible. Considering we lost to a terrible Texas team, it would represent a good deal of respect.

Texas was not as terrible as people are making them out to be. They started the season 4-1 with wins vs us, Texas Tech, TCU and Rice with a loss to Arkansas. After that the wheels fell off, mostly because of injuries in key positions, but lets take a look at their losses during that stretch.
They lost to a, at the time, #5 ranked OU team in a crazy game that they could have easily won 55-48 in a back and forth game.
They lost to a, at the time, #12 ranked Oklahoma State team 32-24.
They lost to a, at the time, #16 ranked Baylor team 31-24.
All of the above games were 1 possession games vs ranked teams. If they could have pulled out 1 or 2 of these games things could have been different.
They then lost to an average Iowa State team 30-7
Then in a crazy overtime game to Kansas 57-56
Then a 31-23 loss to WVU
Then they beat Kansas State to finish the season.
During this season they lost 6 of their 7 games by 1 possession. Between mid season injuries and mid season transfer portal announcements, this team was completely depleted at a ton of positions, including RB, WR and DB. They were a mess at the end of the season, but to say they were terrible is not a very accurate statement. I think that "Sark" has a mess on this hands (mostly because of the mid season transfer guys) and that needs to be corrected. But this team was much better early in the year than late in the year. Again, if they had pulled out any of the OU, OSU and/or Baylor games, think about how this season would have changed for them. Granted it looks like a bad loss at the end of the year, but two things to remember. One if would play them now, it would be a different outcome (no question) and 2, the Texas roster now and the Texas roster in week 1, were not close to the same.

Fair enough. Hopefully the voters look as deeply at the situation. Considering one of them mistook us for La Tech, I have my doubts.

I understand your points but it’s crazy to think a team like Texas doesn’t have players on the 2-3 deep that would still be pretty good. At least good enough to beat Kansas, lol!

agreed, but this is what they lost during the year to the transfer portal:
3 WR's
3 LB's
2 Safeties
1 RB
1 OL
This is what they lost to injury:
2 WR's
1 RB (who was a Heisman candidate)
1 OL
2 DB's
And this is just what I remember or can find.
Re: Where will Louisiana rank in Final College football polls?
That's the problem. Texas was still Texas when UL played them. UL didn't have any real game tape on Sarkesian & their QB. UL plays Texas in November instead of September & UL is 14-0 & CFPukes would have had to rank them high enough to play a P-5 in new year's eve, or New year's bowl game. However the New Orleans bowl is great. Louisiana will get to showcase themselves in front of a big crowd & beat up a non P-5 opponent. Give yourselves a hand Louisiana fan. You've done it. You have rebranded yourselves. Just like Oregon is Oregon, Oklahoma is Oklahoma, Tennessee is Tennessee. Louisiana is now the real University of Louisiana. With the chaos going on on the other side of the swamp, it's time to make being Louisiana count for something big.
