Back then the fine people of Lake Charles LA considered SLI<b>I</b> their <b>I</b>nstitute of higher learning.
This point is shown in that John McNeese, former principal of Lake Charles high school, sent his son to College at SLII.
Not only was John McNeese the principal of Lake Charles High School, he coached (football ) against SLII in 1903.
His son John T. Mcneese played against Louisiana (SLII) in 1903.
In 1904 John McNeese thought highly enough of Louisiana (SLII) to send his son there for a degree. John T. John T. McNeese seems not to have played a full four years of football. At one point he was knocked out during a game, and seems to have concentrated on agricultural studies from that point on.
John T. McNeese went on to become a cotton farmer in Mississippi.
