Good luck this baseball season!
I saw where UL swept Nicholls pretty convincingly last weekend. Miami (Ohio) doesn't seem to have much of a squad, so the Cajuns SHOULD take two and possibly all three this weekend. We should learn a good bit more about UL next week as they travel to SLU and host USM in a three game series. I hope the weather is nice for the USM series because it should be a dandy. In fact, I hope to attend the Sat game and check out the new turf. Anyway, good luck and I hope to see the Cajuns back in regional play (somewhere other than the Box)!
Geaux UL!

Geaux UL! _
Thanks!
You are correct in that there is still alot to learn about this year's UL team. The USM series will be a good measuring stick, provided we take 2/3 from MIA OH.
I would wish the Tigers luck, but I'm pretty sure they don't need it. :)
Re: Good luck this baseball season!
I was recently talking UL baseball with one of my good buddies who closely follows the program. He's convinced the pitching is there, he's just not qute sold on the hitting. Is this more or less the consensus surrounding the team?

Considering that this is normally the case with Robe's teams, yea. If the Juco guys come around mid season, I think the pitching can keep us in every game we play. Defense is supposed to be better, and in 2 of the 3 with Nicholls, it was. Stellar middle in field, and speed in the OF. Concerns are still at 3rd (which I think Jordan Poirrier will come around) and 1st (Trask is not a 'natural' 1st bagger). We'll see. I think Miami Univ has a better team than most think. Should be a couple steps up in competition this weekend.
Re: Good luck this baseball season!
Talking to someone close to the baseball program he told me Greg Fontenot got hurt Monday at practice and didn't know if he was playing this weekend.
I sure hope he can Play
Re: Good luck this baseball season!
Fontenot is special. It would be quite a loss. Who backs him up? Anybody know?

Re: Good luck this baseball season!
Tyler Frederick can play there. Also if they wanted to: Move Trask to third and put Jordan there.
Re: Good luck this baseball season!
Damn close to a 2-0 sweep on day one but the Cajuns should take the series tomorrow. Next week will be pretty tough with USM and an SLU team that defeated Miss St on their home turf.
Re: Good luck this baseball season!
good. will be a good measuring stick to see exactly where we are as a team. Cause the talent we have played thus far, has been very average. Neither team would even compete in the sunbelt
