UL baseball team unranked for first time in 2017

1. THE RANKINGS

After going 3-3 last week with a win over McNeese State, a suspended-game loss and a full-game loss at Southeastern Louisiana and a 2-1 Sun Belt Conference weekend series win over South Alabama, UL fell out of both D1Baseball's Top 25 poll and the Top 25 in USA Today's national coaches' poll.

As a result, the Ragin' Cajuns head into this week unranked nationally for the first time this season.

It's good that the team isn't ranked. They don't deserve to be. On the other hand I never believed that they had a haughty view of themselves. Nobody on the team has ever been more than a very competitive player at the plate. Many aren't even that and haven't been in division one ball.
