I am from out of town, I get on here and read but I do not get to attend any practices, scrimmages, or read the AD (not to sad about the last one) I was wondering if somebody could give me a trial run of what the starting depth chart will look like so I wont come into town Saturday totally blind.I know some of the obvious guys and then Sails at RB and Masson taking snaps. Thanks in advance.

Quarterbacks
Fall developments: Sophomores Chris Masson and Brad McGuire battled in the spring and fall to replace departed starter Michael Desormeaux. Masson won the job a few days ago going into Week 1. Redshirt freshman Blaine Gautier will likely see some action to change the pace.
Lingering questions: Masson has played three games at quarterback and thrown nine passes in college, so he's young. How will he respond under the pressure? McGuire has made one start and thrown 30 balls at this level. Gautier has no college experience.

Senior Undrea Sails is the projected starter after seeing limited action last season, with redshirt freshman Draylon Booker being the other top option. Senior Geoffrey McCullough is expected to carry the load at fullback.
Lingering questions: The returning rushers have 72 carries at the DI level. Sails and sophomore Julian Shankle have been banged up. Mamou's Robert Walker was expected to provide much-needed speed but had his ACT score thrown out and is ineligible.
Starter lost: RB Tyrell Fenroy.
Others lost: FB Chancellor Roberson.

Sophomore Pierre Hill, junior college transfers Andrew “Rico” Joseph and Vernon Wolfe and true freshman Javone Lawson will play, too.
Lingering questions: None of the returning players have proven to be dependable primary receivers. Miller sat out last year due to academics and might be rusty. Hill, Joseph and Lawson are still young. Wolfe played only half of last year.
Starter lost: Jason Chery.

They combined for 8 touchdown catches last season and could do even more damage this year. The new quarterbacks should be able to rely on that tandem throughout the season.
Lingering questions: Jones was known more as a blocker, while Green and Aubrey are bigger threats in the air. Green has to improve his blocking and shake off a tough fall camp. Aubrey has yet to produce over an entire season.
Starter lost: Erik Jones.
Others lost: None.
Projected starter: Ladarius Green (So., 6-6, 229).

Burks has missed some time in fall camp, but redshirt freshman Jaron Odom has shown he is capable of playing.
Lingering questions: There is more depth than last season, but the line has been hit hard by injuries. Junior Nasser Jamal was hurt last year. Odom and fellow redshirt freshmen Leonardo Bates and Sean Osborne have yet to play in a college game.
Starter lost: None.
Others lost: Brad Bryant.

Fall developments: This unit struggled last year but has more depth. Defensive ends Hall Davis and Terrell Richardson will start again. Nose guard Derreck Dean and defensive tackles LaQuincy Williams and Jermaine Rogers get the nod inside. JUCO transfers Jordan Topp and Tyrell Gaddies will play. Defensive end Nate Douglas (head) is out.

Senior Antwyne Zanders and juniors Grant Fleming and Daylon McCoy are big-time playmakers. Senior Jezreel Washington and sophomore Richard Brooks started half the season due to injuries.
Lingering questions: Zanders was the lone returning linebacker to avoid missing time due to injury last season. Fleming and Brooks missed the last part of the year with knee injuries. Everyone else was hobbled down the stretch with bumps and bruises.
Starter lost: None.
Others lost: None.

Lingering questions: There's just not much depth. Auriene and Bentley give up big pass plays too often due to their size. Richard is a converted linebacker and lacks experience at the position. Rolle has been injury-prone in the past.

Others lost: CB - Justin Branden; Scooter Rogers; SS - Frantz Accime.

Injuries and inconsistency kept the kicking battle open between junior Tyler Albrecht and redshirt freshman Brett Baer. Safety Lance Kelley looked solid on kickoffs. Plenty of options in return game, which lost Jason Chery.
Lingering questions: Neither Albrecht nor Baer have attempted a college kick. Will one of them emerge? Someone must handle the kickoffs and become a force in the return game. The Cajuns have blocked 35 kicks since 2002 but had only three last year.
Starters lost: Kicker/Kickoffs- Drew Edmiston; Kick return - Jason Chery; Holder - Chris Masson.
