Re: UL @ LSU Hockey Photos
That's probably where he's needed most. If he does indeed have as much hockey experience as you say, then playing D on a LSU team is where he's needed. Nick Lindstrom was\is one of the all time greatest defenders. He just has a way with stealing pucks and breaking up 2 on 1's or even 3 on 1's. Plus he still gets his 30+ goals a year not to mention 80 or more assists. There's a reason he wore the "C" on his chest after Yzerman retired. I'd take a Nick Lindstrom any day over a superstar goalie like Roy, Khabbibulan, or Hasek. They are the most underrated position on the team and the most important as evidenced by Detroit's 4 Stanley Cup championships in the last 12-15 years.

UL crushed LSU tonight 7-0! It was really fun to watch hockey again, esp. it being a UL team. Weird seeing players run around a rink with UL jerseys on. ;)
FYI, LSU is playing in Lafayette against UL tomorrow evening. If you get a chance, go watch them play. I was surprised at how many people were at the game tonight. Esp. with it starting so late. Tonights game was at 10:15 and there was still about 100 or so people there including about 10 Cajun fans. Yes, I was not the only UL fan there. I was decked out in all red, and was sure I would be the only fan there; but was not. I'm sure the rest were girlfriends of the players...they prob. were, since there might have only been one other guy to make the trip. But lots of LSU fans were in attendance.

P.S. You'll notice that I also took several pictures of #7 for LSU that is b/c he is my older brother's nephew. He grew up in Wisconsin playing hockey his whole life, and while at LSU they suddenly started up a hockey club so he decided to play since he knew how. Thus, he is one of the better players on the team. They have him playing defense though. _
I could really get into this at Blackham or the Cajundome and 4,000 fans. The hockeyplex just doesn't have the size or atmosphere.

If the Cajundome has any thing to do with it you will never see the concret frozen again. Unless it's for the ice cup cakes they bring once in a while.
Re: UL @ LSU Hockey Photos
I think we're talking ROLLER hockey here...

I was thinking the same thing. We don't use blackham for much else. Why not make it our hockey arena. I'm sure for that to happen we would have to make hockey an official school sport and not a club team.

It was pretty good. There was a decent crowd considering it's a club sport. LSU brought a decent amount of fans.
Cajuns win 6-1.
As far as Blackham goes, Coach Handy had mentioned a year or so ago about wanting to get into Blackham. I don't know if there are still any plans. I made this for him, though, so he could present it to the university.

I think it would be rather nice.
