Re: Updated Bowl Projections
There's NO SUCH RULE stating that Sun Belt teams need 7 wins to become bowl-eligible. THAT'S BULLS__T!! The fool running that blog's an IDIOT!!! .~..~..~.
Re: Updated Bowl Projections
It says that the papajohns.com bowl and Indy bowl require a SBC team to have 7 wins to be selected. This is partially true. A 6-6 SBC team will not be selected for the papajohns.com bowl or Indy bowl if a 7-5 at-large team is available, so basically, a 7 win SBC team that does not win the regular season title would be a lock for the Indy or papajohns.com bowl if there is an opening in those bowls. If a 7-5 SBC team is available, as well as another 7-5 at-large, the Indy or papajohns.com bowl must select the SBC team.
I suggest not posting such knee-jerk reactions. You only end up making yourself look like the idiot.
Re: Updated Bowl Projections
Apparently none of these bloggers have seen us play our last three games. Because I would be hard pressed to believe that a Bowl would invite a subpar SBC team that is playing terrible football.

Just because 6 wins makes you bowl eligible doesn't automatically entitle you to a bowl game. The Sunbelt will be lucky to get 2 teams in bowl games outside of their automatic bid to the New Orleans Bowl.

The Sunbelt has a contract with papa johns, independence and the st petersburg bowls that if there primary tie-in is not eligible they have to take a 7-5 sun belt team. if there or no 7-5 team they can get any team they want however if there or no 7-5 teams they have to take a 6-6 sun belt team. now go back and hide under your rock

Well let's see I bet those bowls will find a way to take one of the following teams despite your tie ins if they win this weekend. Louisville, Auburn, Colorado, and Arizona who is 6-5 with one to play. Name teams from name conferences they don't want ULL if they can help it.

I understand I am just pointing out to you that there are a couple of teams who could very well be 7 - 5 and based on what you wrote earlier they can take a 7-5 team over ULL. I understand but you don't seem to remember what in the world you wrote.
Re: Updated Bowl Projections
Seven is bowl eligible. 6-6 is an exception to bowl eligibility.
Sixes can never be selected over a seven unless there is a primary contract (ie. New Orleans not Indy). This year it is extremely unlikely that there will be enough sevens to remotely come close to filling all the vacancies so few sixes will be left out.
Speaking precisely. 6-6 is not bowl eligible. Speaking practically, it is.
