Nokia Announces HERE Maps For Windows RT/8 Devices, Will Support 3D And Offline Maps
When Nokia announced Lumia 2520 Windows RT tablet, it came with Nokia exclusive apps such as Nokia Storyteller, Nokia HERE Maps and more. Nokia today announced that they will be releasing HERE Maps app for free for all Windows RT/8 devices in Windows Store. HERE Maps is an all-in-one mapping solution, combining vector, satellite and 3D maps, points of interest, search and route planning. You can also download maps for offline us as you enjoy it on Lumia devices. Nokia announced the following improvements over previous version of the app. First of all: speed. The offline maps load as quickly as your computer can manage, of course, so it’s a lot faster than using a website for navigation. But there are also speed improvements to the online portions. City pages, for example, now load up to four times faster, thanks to the use of progressive rendering and some clever optimisations to the data transfers.
