I'm not sure we want any part of Florida State for the next few years! Did anyone see them against Clemson Saturday evening, and their QB is just a RS Freshman! But if they schedule it, I'll be there.
Re: nola neutral site game
id be there as well but your right. on the road they violated clemson, famous jamus is the real deal. they can play with anyone in the country

is this a pipe dream or something that is real?
if so who do you like?
if usm wasnt a dumpster fire that would be sweet, other than that id like a ga tech, cincy, louisville or navy i think that would sell some tickets
Well if we're playing the guessing game I'll take a stab.
I would think they would be looking for another school that can draw pretty well in NOLA. I don't see them going with, say a Texas Tech, who have a decent fan base but won't bring many people to New Orleans. And I don't think it would be a school like Notre Dame because they set up their own neutral site games so they can keep most of the money. So with that said here's the list of possibilities I can think of:
Alabama
Auburn
Arkansas
Ole Miss
Miss State
Texas A&M
Baylor
Texas
Army
Navy
Air Force
Southern Miss
Houston
Of course I'm sure there are a few people here who know exactly who it will be or at least who is on the short list but I doubt they're going to spill the beans.
EDIT: NEVER MIND, MELROCK SPILLED THE BEANS.
I'd be happy with Texas because it would be a really fun, and really packed game that would bring in a ton of money. And I'd be happy with Arizona because it would be a winnable game that would be more winnable with our home-field advantage.

To quote something that I heard the late Alfred Lamson state to then A.D. Terry Don Phillips, " If you want to beat Nebraska you have to play Nebraska"......
Re: nola neutral site game
And if we really think we want to shoot for Big XII membership, what better way to get their attention?
Re: nola neutral site game
I just buckled my chin strap. I'm ready for this.
Re: nola neutral site game
Based on what I know, NOLA Sports Authority contacted us about playing one of our home games at the Dome. Not sure how much Tulane's building their on-campus stadium played into this proposition or was it simply the attention we garnered by bringing in so many to the last two NOLA bowls....whatever it is/was, makes no difference to me. I'm all for it for recruiting reasons and helping to build a national brand. There won't be any problem finding teams to play us either because they know it will help their recruiting efforts in the NOLA area.
The other part of what I've heard, is that Rich Rod (U of Arizona) called Hud a week or so after NOLASA inquired about our interest to see if they could work something out. I didn't know about any talks with Texas, but that would be even better because its B12 and they would bring more fans than Arizona.
I'd like to see a 3-4 year contract and give the game a name...like Battle in the Bayou or something like that. I sure hope this gets done because its the kind of exposure we desperately need. Look how far Louisville's program has come since they agreed to play any night of the week with ESPN. I believe they were the first to do this and its paid off big time.
