The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football program will begin searching immediately for assistant coaches after coach Rickey Bustle announced on Monday offensive coordinator Rob Christophel, defensive coordinator Brent Pry, receivers coach Brian Crist and cornerbacks coach Terry Sims will not return next season.
If the Cajuns don't find suitable replacements to join Bustle's staff, it won't be because of a lack of money.
The program is expected to have an increased budget for Bustle to hire assistant coaches, which should make the positions on the Cajuns' staff more attractive.
Bustle would not confirm nor deny whether university President Ray Authement and interim athletic director David Walker have approved a budget increase for his search for new assistants.
Efforts to reach Walker were unsuccessful.

"I gave both David Walker and Mr. Authement a plan," Bustle said. "The plan talked about all aspects of what I felt we needed and they both OK'd it. They both agreed that's what we needed to do and that they are going to support my decisions. I'm excited about that."
No timetable has been set for filling the positions although Bustle would like to have his staff intact by late January or early February.
"We would like to have it done by that time so those coaches can get involved in the recruiting process," Bustle said. "But that's not as much of a priority as is making sure we find the right fit."
Bustle did confirm that he has some people in mind for those positions, but he did not disclose those names.
"I have some people in mind and I have also received a few phone calls," Bustle said. "But we definitely have not offered any positions to anyone at this time."
