UL's Jonathan Lucroy earns Johnny Bench Award nomination

&nbsp; Jonathan Lucroy, a former catcher on the baseball team at Umatilla, who is now a sophomore playing at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette is among 26 NCAA Division I catchers who have been nominated for the 2006 Coleman Company's Johnny Bench Award.

The official watch list was announced earlier this month by the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission.

The award is given annually to the top Division I collegiate catcher. The watch list will be narrowed to the top-10 semifinalists on May 11 and from there the field will be narrowed down to three finalists at the end of May and the winner will be announced during the ninth annual Greater Wichita Sports Banquet on June 28.
