Season Ticket Holders Exclusively Being Offered Tickets For Texas Game

LOUISIANA La. - The University of Louisiana Athletics Department announced Tuesday it will receive an allotment of tickets for the 2005 football season opener at Texas and tickets will be offered to football season ticket holders only.
Season ticket holders interested in attending the game, to be held on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas, should contact the athletic department directly to be placed on a waiting list. Call Karen at 337-482-5393 or e-mail assistant athletics director Kay Dischler at kdischler@louisiana.edu
Tickets are $50 each and will guarantee a seat in the Louisiana section of Memorial Stadium.
The number of tickets a season ticket holder will be allowed to purchase will be based upon on the number of Ragin' Cajuns season tickets purchased for the 2005 season (i.e., 4 Ragin' Cajuns football season tickets would guarantee a maximum of 4 tickets to the Texas game).
The Ragin' Cajuns and Longhorns will kickoff at 6 p.m. (CDT) on Saturday, Sept. 3 in a game which will begin the fourth campaign under head coach Rickey Bustle. The game will be broadcast live nationally via Fox Sports Net.
For more ticket information please call the Ragin' Cajuns Athletics Department at 337-482-5393. To purchase 2005 Louisiana-Lafayette season tickets call the Cajundome Ticket Office at 337-265-2100.

Re: Season Ticket Holders Exclusively Being Offered Tickets For Texas Game
Was nothing learned in 2002 LINK Seems to me Louisiana NEEDS to sell out the allotment or any "at large" post season bowl bid will be undermined.
What UL should be doing is announce a complete phase of Texas Game ticket buying possibilities right from the get go. Right from the start of renewals lay out the options, instead of regrouping a couple of times like they did with the LSU ticket drive snafu of 2002
Here is what I would suggest:

Phase 1: Renewing Season Ticket Buyers get 1st crack at Longhorn tickets, during the renewal phase.

Phase 2: New Season ticket buyers get 2nd crack at Longhorn tickets, during the main ticket drive.

Phase 3: Fans at Large get final crack at a sellout.
Hey if phase 1 sells out the card so be it. But if they have to come back with a secondary plan later it will give the false appearance of lack of fan support.

Re: Season Ticket Holders Exclusively Being Offered Tickets For Texas Game
this is my last semester at UL and thus my last mouching off the university as a student for free admission. I do not have season tickets right now. But, I would like to know if any season ticket holder out there would be willing to get tickets for me for the UT game. I of course will supply the money, I just need someone who wants to get tickets for me. Anybody interested?

I believe those are only going to UL season-ticket holders. Apparently we did not learn our lesson from the complete and utter embarassment of having to send a healthy stack back to LSU after begging them for a game for 50 years.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
