Is UL effectivly a 6th seed ?
Last year with eight 8 team regionals. Louisiana was slighted with a 5th seed. It was said at the time it was because of a low RPI . . .
This year the post season has sixteen 4 team regionals and UL is seeded 3rd. At the time the seeds were released Sunday UL's RPI is higher than the same day last year. Unfortunatly it seems to me a 3 seed from a shrunken round 1 pool would be equal to a 5-6 seed last year.
How far off am I?

Never looked at it that way but you may be right, however a # 2 or # 3 seed this year is not really a difference being that they plkay each other.

Nelson Schexnayder was the head of the softball seeding committee, could he not remind them how wrong they were last year?

Furthering an email conversation I had last year with Sharon Cessna (NCAA Director of Championships) Nelson did not serve as committee head, or on the committee at all.
ps she was very cordial in her reply.
