Brian (or your daughter)...explain, please! _
Was there anyone already on the tallest building in Breaux Bridge that had jumped already? That thing 50 miles east had a pretty awesome (awesome for everyone but them) weekend.

Ranking can always throw you off because you do not know how much separation there is within a batch of teams. The actual RPI (the rating) is predictable based on outcomes and here there is no surprise. The Cajuns have an Adjusted RPI of .5477 after this weekend's games ... recall that before Saturday's games the Cajuns had a .5465 Adjusted RPI (and went 1-1 vs. WKU since). But there are other factors to consider as well, the most important being how your opponents performed.
Thus, you can see that the actual RPI is not unexpected. Let's look at the new rankings ...
52 0.5578 Tulane
53 0.5564 Creighton
54 0.5560 North Carolina State
55 0.5510 Kansas State
56 0.5507 Loyola Marymount
57 0.5504 Long Beach State
58 0.5483 College of Charleston
59 0.5477 Louisiana
60 0.5469 Michigan State
61 0.5468 Kansas
62 0.5460 Samford
63 0.5456 Marist
64 0.5456 Lamar
65 0.5439 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
66 0.5437 Western Kentucky
67 0.5430 St John's
68 0.5418 San Jose State
69 0.5413 West Virginia
70 0.5411 Georgia State
71 0.5411 Tennessee
72 0.5407 Memphis
73 0.5407 Alabama-Birmingham
74 0.5401 Coastal Carolina
As you can see, it is a very short fall to #74 (.0076). It will not take much to plummet the Cajuns back into the 70's. Meanwhile, a mere move to #54 requires a larger move of .0083.

Their performance was not awesome for us. If they keep it up, not only will it continue to affect our Base RPI, we will lose precious RPI bonus points.

Well, then...I'm still seriously concerned (but cautiously optimistic) about the next two weeks and what it might have in store for us.
Just to be sure...I'm not going to pass by F-M Bank downtown. Its two full stories!

Yes, the softball team was really awesome. Oh, you're talking about baseball?

That's what the baseball team was waiting for - Hawk's approval. Now watch UL's RPI soar.

I have a nice view of the FM Bank building at work. I'll keep an eye out in case I see anyone on top of it in the coming weeks.
