What is up with the Cajundome Hospitality
I attended the first two games and noticed something disturbing after the game. I know the parents wait after the game for players to come out. One officer told them rudely that they were not allowed to wait in the dome anymore. They had to go outside of the dome and wait for the players to come out or go around to the back by the cars. Andrews mom was waiting to talk to the trainer about his injury and the officer told her she could go out front. Then a coaches wife was waiting and was told she also had to leave. Even after she told the officer who she was. Last night after it was announced that the players were going to sign autographs again the officers were rude to fans telling them to move out.
I am not sure why the change but was told it was the Cajundome who is not allowing people to wait. Last night even though the players were coming out to sign autographs they turned most of the lights down. If we are going to use the UL facilities as a recruitment tool then we cannot have parents treated rudely by the police and what harm does it do for them to wait inside after a game for their children. No let's be inhospitable and tell them to go out side.
I was appalled to say the least.

Send this to Farmer. This has not been the policy in the Cajundome for 25 years, and this is not the policy in any other basketball arena in the country. I know they have a quick turnaround for the Icegators tomorrow, but that is ridiculous.

It may have had something to with the crew needing to get the court off so they could get the ice ready for today. Just a theory.

Here's an idea . . .
UL Continuing Education is holding professional development classes in "Customer Service" on Friday December 10th from 8am to 5pm and it's only $250
Re: What is up with the Cajundome Hospitality
The officer said its the policy now and was rude with it. Seems several Lafayette officers need classes on how to communicate.
Re: What is up with the Cajundome Hospitality
Last year the ice gators played in Blacham I understood that they moved the ice floor there. Are they playing in the dome this year?

Do you know if they were city officers or University Police.
I hate this policy, and it should be changed. If they need to work on the dome floor there is a common area that the parents could gather certainly.

I walked out of the press conference only to find a worker holding my computer and computer bag, joking that they don't know what to do with it.
The game ended 20 minutes earlier. It is ridiculous.

It would be either University Police or the Sheriff's Department. Lafayette PD does not work Cajun Dome events. For just about every UL game I've been to at the Dome, its been University Police providing the security.
