Locals Sell T-Shirts To Raise Money for Oil Cleanup

After seeing images of oil-soaked pelicans on television, Larry Schuh of Crowley wanted to help, so he put his artistic talents to use. Schuh designed a shirt (left) depicting the state bird in peril because of the Crude Disaster.
"I thought a good design will [have] a really visual element that people could relate to, not that you want to wear something morbid, it's just about awareness," he said.
Schuh's shirt is not just about awareness, but also about contribution. He's selling the t-shirts for $20 and says all of the money collected will go to the Audubon Nature Institute in New Orleans. If you'd like to order one, you can call Schuh at (337)-783-2290. He's also working to setup a
website, which should be live by early next week.
Meantime Brother's on the Boulevard in Lafayette is also selling t-shirts to raise money for the Gulf. The shirts are $25 each and $5 of that will benefit the Gulf Restoration Network and the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana.
