Defense vs ULM: Better Than You Think.

Louisiana's defense vs ULM was realistically stout for 97% of all plays.

My earlier play on words "the bend but don't break defense snapped on two key ULM snaps" is so true.

One bad snap on pass defense and one bad snap on run defense was the difference between a stellar performance and blind ridicule.

Without the one run ULM has 152 yards rushing.

Without the one pass ULM has 103 yards passing.

Just one of those snaps and Louisiana wins.

Going forward a bend but don't snap mentality realized and Louisiana can have a LaMar Morgan type season.

And without the 2 bad snaps, you’re swinging 10 points.

When we are able to sustain drives more, the defense will be even more stout.

Defense gave up 14 points outside of that “gimme” with the botched punt snap. Outside of that, 14 points given up should always be enough to beat ULM.

Should always be enough to beat anyone . . .

ULM dropped several balls also. #17 dropped a long gainer that was thrown perfectly, plus he fumbled a ball. Their ineptitude made the defense look better than it was. Not saying the defense was bad, but ULM shot themselves in the foot several times.

Victory with the calming effect.

Defense played well enough for Cajuns to win the ULM game. Without an effective running game, will become a long season. We do play in the SBC West, so there is hope for a rebound assuming the coaches and players can improve as the season progresses.
